Audie Mae and Leonard Bankston settled on the farm in 1936. The barn was built as a wedding gift. They farmed the land for the next 67 years and had cows, pigs, chickens, ponies, and acres of vegetables. The farm is currently owned by their daugther, Martha Bankston Shershin.
